Despite intimidating perceptions, sous vide cooking is actually a relatively quick and easy way to achieve delicious, tender proteins (and more). While the method may sound highly scientific, more and more home cooks are incorporating sous vide into their weeknight routines. The machines themselves (also known as immersion circulators) are relatively affordable, and with their promise to keep food at precise cooking temperatures, they make it easy to never overcook your food.
If you’re looking to mix up your cooking methods or find that your busy schedule leaves little time for grilling, a sous vide machine like the Anova Precision Cooker Pro may just change your life. This inconspicuous but mighty tool was the most powerful sous vide machine we tested—and right now, the brand is slashing its price in half.
Anova Precision Cooker Pro
Why It Won Our Review
Our team tested 18 of the top sous vide machines, but this one truly blew us away. With 1,200 watts of horsepower, it brings water up to your desired temperature faster than any other sous vide machines we tested. In our testing, it brought a gallon and a half of water up to 190°F in just over a half hour. It accurately (and quietly!) kept the water temperature consistent during all of our tests.
Many sous vide machines—this one included—feature Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity that allows you to control and monitor cook times and temperatures from an app on your phone. That said, they also include manual controls if you’d rather not use your smartphone. During our tests, we felt the only real downside to the Anova Precision Cooker Pro was the price tag, so we recommend taking advantage of the $200 discount while you can.
